UP Infrastructure Development: CM Yogi Speeds Up Expressway Land Acquisition and Jewar Airport Projects
UP Infrastructure Development is accelerating as Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has instructed officials to speed up land acquisition and construction work for several major expressway and airport-related projects across the state. The government aims to strengthen connectivity, boost investment opportunities, and ensure balanced regional growth through large-scale infrastructure expansion.
During a high-level review meeting, the Chief Minister emphasized that all projects must be completed within the stipulated deadlines without compromising quality.
UP Infrastructure Development: Expressway Projects Under Review
Under the broader UP Infrastructure Development plan, the state government reviewed the progress of several proposed and under-construction expressways. These include:
- Chitrakoot Link Expressway
- Farrukhabad Link Expressway
- Agra-Lucknow-Purvanchal Link Expressway
- Jhansi Link Expressway
- Jewar Link Expressway
Officials were directed to accelerate land acquisition and resolve any pending issues immediately to avoid delays in construction. The government believes that expanding the expressway network will significantly improve connectivity and support industrial growth in Uttar Pradesh.
UP Infrastructure Development Boost Through Ganga Expressway
Another major highlight of UP Infrastructure Development is the progress of the Ganga Expressway, one of India’s longest expressways.
According to officials, the main carriageway construction has already been completed, and the remaining work is being carried out at a rapid pace. The government is also exploring plans to extend the expressway from Meerut to Haridwar, which could further strengthen connectivity in northern India.
The project is expected to significantly reduce travel time and create new economic corridors across the state.
Jewar Airport Projects to be Completed on Schedule
The Noida International Airport in Jewar is another key component of UP Infrastructure Development. Authorities informed the Chief Minister that the airport has recently received a provisional aerodrome licence, marking a major step toward its operational readiness.
The government has directed officials to ensure that all airport-related works—including connectivity roads and support infrastructure—are completed in a coordinated and timely manner.
Additionally, development work related to a multi-modal logistics hub and multi-modal transport hub in Greater Noida is also progressing, which will support cargo movement and industrial expansion in the region.
Focus on Irrigation, Energy, and Tourism Projects
Beyond roads and airports, the UP Infrastructure Development strategy also includes major projects in irrigation, energy, and tourism.
Key projects reviewed include:
- Middle Ganga Canal Project (Stage-2)
- Erch Irrigation Project
- Pumped storage power project in the Rihand-Obra region
- A proposed 100 MW solar plant in Jhansi
These initiatives aim to increase agricultural productivity, improve energy capacity, and promote clean energy development in the state.
Infrastructure Growth to Drive Investment and Jobs
The state government believes that UP Infrastructure Development will play a crucial role in attracting investment, creating employment opportunities, and improving the overall quality of life for citizens.
By building a strong network of expressways, airports, logistics hubs, and energy projects, Uttar Pradesh aims to become a major economic and industrial hub in India in the coming years.
