₹4,458 Cr Aviation Boost: AISATS to Develop Cargo & Catering Hub at Jewar Airport
The Uttar Pradesh government has secured a major aviation industry investment commitment worth ₹4,458 crore from Air India SATS Airport Services Private Limited (AISATS) for two flagship infrastructure projects at the upcoming Noida International Airport in Jewar. This landmark agreement was formalised during Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s official visit to Singapore, marking a crucial step in Uttar Pradesh’s strategy to attract global capital and elevate its aviation and logistics ecosystem.
Key Projects Under the ₹4,458 Cr MoU
Under the memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed with AISATS, two significant developments will be implemented at the new airport in Gautam Buddha Nagar district:
Cargo Campus
AISATS will build a modern cargo hub inside the airport precinct. Designed to handle large volumes of air freight, this facility aims to position Jewar as a major logistics and trade gateway for North India, enhancing export-import connectivity and benefiting key sectors like electronics, agriculture, and pharmaceuticals.
World-Class Air Catering Facility
A high-capacity air catering kitchen will be set up to supply quality in-flight meals for flights operating from Jewar Airport. Beyond servicing the new airport, the facility is expected to provide catering solutions to multiple airports across northern India, strengthening aviation support services and supply chains in the region.
Economic and Strategic Impact
This major investment aligns with the state’s economic vision of becoming a leading aviation and logistics hub and reflects deeper interest from global service providers in Uttar Pradesh’s infrastructure initiatives. The integration of advanced cargo and catering facilities will:
- Boost trade and export activities by supporting efficient cargo handling and supply chain operations.
- Generate thousands of employment opportunities across the aviation services, logistics, and food processing sectors.
- Strengthen Uttar Pradesh’s appeal as a destination for international investment and service infrastructure.
The MoU not only reinforces Jewar Airport’s role in regional development but also supports Uttar Pradesh’s broader economic goals by enhancing connectivity and service readiness ahead of the airport’s commercial launch.
Looking Ahead
As global investors show rising confidence in Uttar Pradesh’s growth trajectory, the AISATS agreement exemplifies how strategic international partnerships can accelerate infrastructure development and economic diversification. With the Noida International Airport project nearing key completion milestones, these aviation support facilities will play a pivotal role in ensuring that the region becomes a prominent logistics and travel hub in northern India.
