Jewar Airport Vande Bharat Connectivity to Transform Travel for Noida and Delhi-NCRJewar Airport Vande Bharat Connectivity to Transform Travel for Noida and Delhi-NCR

The Jewar Airport Vande Bharat Connectivity project is set to significantly improve transportation access to the upcoming Noida International Airport, offering faster rail travel for passengers across Delhi-NCR. Authorities are planning to integrate high-speed Vande Bharat trains with the airport through upgraded railway infrastructure and multimodal connectivity systems.

The initiative aims to ensure that travelers leaving or arriving at Jewar Airport can continue their journeys quickly without facing delays in regional transport.

Railway Station Redevelopment to Enable High-Speed Access

As part of the connectivity plan, the redevelopment of Chola railway station has been proposed to accommodate high-speed train services. In the initial phase, at least four Vande Bharat trains and other fast intercity services are expected to stop at the upgraded station.

Officials have identified nearby railway points, including Chola and Rundhi stations, to strengthen rail access to the airport region. These upgrades are being planned jointly by regional development authorities, the state government, and Indian Railways.

A dedicated budget of around ₹300 crore has been approved to enhance railway connectivity infrastructure around the airport zone. Surveys required for the project have already been completed, and construction activities are expected to begin soon.

New Rail Line Planned Near Jewar Airport

Authorities are also planning a new rail track stretching roughly 61 kilometers to link key railway stations and improve passenger as well as cargo movement. The proposed railway network will connect with the Dedicated Freight Corridor near Dadri, enabling efficient logistics operations alongside passenger services.

The entire rail development project is estimated to cost approximately ₹2,400 crore and may take around three years to complete once construction starts.

Multimodal Transport Hub to Be Built Near Airport

A major highlight of the Jewar Airport Vande Bharat Connectivity plan is the creation of a Ground Transportation Center near the airport. This hub will integrate multiple transport systems, including:

  • High-speed rail services
  • Rapid Rail Transit System (RRTS)
  • Metro connectivity
  • Future bullet train corridor integration
  • Expressway access routes

The proposed underground rapid transit station will allow passengers to directly travel between the airport and major hubs such as Delhi and Sarai Kale Khan without changing transport modes.

Faster Connectivity Expected Across NCR Region

The Noida International Airport is being developed as a major aviation hub for northern India, and improved rail connectivity is considered essential for handling future passenger demand. Enhanced transportation links are expected to reduce travel time and ease congestion at existing airports in the region.

With the addition of Vande Bharat services, commuters from nearby cities and states will gain quicker access to flights, strengthening regional mobility and economic activity around the Yamuna Expressway corridor.

Integrated Infrastructure Vision for Jewar Region

The broader infrastructure vision includes linking the airport with expressways, rapid rail corridors, metro routes, and future high-speed rail projects. Officials say this integrated approach will create seamless travel options and support long-term urban development in the Noida-Greater Noida region.

Once completed, the Jewar area is expected to emerge as one of the most connected transport hubs in North India, combining air, rail, road, and rapid transit networks into a single mobility ecosystem.
