Jewar Airport Power Substation: 400 kV Electricity Station to Strengthen Power Supply in Noida
The Jewar Airport Power Substation project is set to strengthen electricity infrastructure in the Yamuna Expressway region of Noida. A new 400 kV power substation is currently being developed to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply for the upcoming Jewar International Airport and nearby industrial units.
With the rapid development of infrastructure and industries around the airport, this power project will play a crucial role in maintaining stable and reliable electricity for businesses, data centers, and other large facilities in the region.
New 400 kV Power Substation Near Jewar Airport
To meet the increasing electricity demand in the area, authorities are constructing a 400 kV electricity substation at a cost of around ₹220 crore. The project has been under construction for over a year and is expected to become operational soon.
The substation will provide a reliable power backup system for the airport and ensure uninterrupted power supply for upcoming industries in the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) region.
Power Capacity and Infrastructure Details
The upcoming Jewar Airport Power Substation will have a total capacity of 1000 MVA, supported by two 500 MVA transformers that have already been installed at the site.
Key infrastructure features include:
- Two transformers of 500 MVA capacity each
- Total 1000 MVA power transformation capacity
- Connectivity with major power stations
- High-voltage infrastructure for industrial use
The facility will also be linked with the 400 kV substation in Sector 148 and the 765 kV substation in Jahangirpur, strengthening the region’s power transmission network.
Additional 220 kV Substation Also Under Development
Along with the main project, a 220 kV substation is also being built within the same campus to further enhance power distribution.
Important details include:
- Estimated cost: ₹52 crore
- Two transformers of 160 MVA each
Additional capacity expansion for the power grid
Once completed, the combined capacity of the substations will reach around 1320 MVA, making it a major power hub for the area.
Benefits for Jewar Airport and Industrial Units
The Jewar Airport Power Substation will provide several benefits for the region:
Reliable Electricity for Airport Operations
Airports require stable power for terminals, navigation systems, security, and cargo facilities. This project will ensure uninterrupted electricity supply.
Support for Data Centers and Industries
The Yamuna Expressway region is attracting data centers, manufacturing companies, and logistics hubs, all of which require large amounts of power.
Boost to Regional Development
Improved electricity infrastructure will accelerate economic development and attract new investments around Jewar Airport.
Why Power Infrastructure Is Important for Jewar Airport?
The Noida International Airport at Jewar is one of India’s largest upcoming aviation projects and is expected to transform the economy of the region. As the airport and surrounding industrial zones expand, electricity demand will rise significantly.
Developing high-capacity power infrastructure like the Jewar Airport Power Substation ensures that future energy requirements can be met efficiently.
